A small test transfer sends a little crypto from Ethereum to Manta Pacific before you move a larger amount. The key is to choose an amount worth testing while keeping enough ETH on Ethereum to pay the transaction fee.
Manta Pacific is an Ethereum layer 2, a network designed to work with Ethereum and process transactions there. If that is where you want to use your funds, the Manta bridge is one route between Ethereum and Manta Pacific. The Manta bridge route offers a way to move supported assets between them.
Choose a test amount that covers the real task
A useful test checks that your asset arrives in the right wallet and can be used for its intended purpose. Pick an amount that can cover that first action, such as a small swap, plus any fee on Manta Pacific.
For example, suppose you have 0.10 ETH on Ethereum and plan to move 0.02 ETH. Those figures are illustrative: the amount you receive can be lower if a fee is deducted, and you still need ETH left on Ethereum to pay for the transfer. Ethereum.org explains that gas, the fee for processing a transaction, changes with network demand.
Make the test and check what arrives
Use these steps to check the transfer before sending more.
- Check the asset and destination. Confirm that you are sending ETH, or the intended ERC-20 token. ERC-20 is a common format for tokens on Ethereum. Make sure the destination is Manta Pacific and that the wallet address is yours.
- Keep ETH aside for Ethereum gas. The transfer starts on Ethereum, so the wallet needs ETH to pay its fee. If you are sending an ERC-20 token, the wallet may ask you to approve token use first. An approval is a separate transaction and can cost an extra fee.
- Review the amount and estimated arrival. Check the amount expected on Manta Pacific and the fee shown before signing. If the fee is high compared with your test amount, wait and check again later; Ethereum transaction fees vary.
- Sign only after checking the wallet summary. A signature authorizes the transaction. Read the wallet’s summary, then confirm the transfer if the asset, destination, and amount match your plan.
- Wait for the transfer, then verify it. Check the wallet balance on Manta Pacific after the transaction completes. Try the small action you planned, such as a swap, before deciding whether to move more.
Use the result to decide what to send next
A successful test means the asset arrived in the right place and worked for your next step. It does not guarantee that a later transfer will cost the same: Ethereum fees can change, and a token approval may add a transaction.
Manta Network’s documentation describes Manta Pacific as an Ethereum layer 2. That connection explains the basic flow: the transfer begins on Ethereum, then the asset becomes available on Manta Pacific after the bridge processes it.
